This client is currently looking to recruit several Gameplay Programmers on a six months contract basis housed within their studio based in the heart of northern England (UK).
The role would be ideal for an experienced Programmer who is able to turn his or her hand to a variety of high-level programming tasks.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in videogame development, be an exceptionally creative problem solver and technically versatile, whilst having high levels of enthusiasm for creating games.
This role requires great technical knowledge of the software development process for creating release quality code. The role requires flexibility, with the candidate working on several game systems including core game structure, Gameplay, AI and other game-related systems.
• Communicating with Lead Programmer to determine and prioritise technical features for the game. • Working on technical solutions to creative design requirements. • Design and delivery of major game components. • Maintenance of the overall game framework and structure • Prototyping, developing & maintaining game mechanics.
• At least 4 years C++ experience in the games industry • At least 2 shipped console titles • Good knowledge of modern game engines and graphical techniques • Ability to deliver high quality, robust code to a realistic & agreed schedule. • Experience on current generation consoles • Passion for games
